Dog first-aid kit – essential for every caregiver
Bringing a four-legged friend into the home, we take on for him full responsibility. In addition to meeting his daily needs, we must be prepared for unforeseen situations, such as accidents, injuries or various health episodes – both minor and more serious. Therefore it is worth that in every home, car, during a trip or on vacation there is a dog first-aid kit. It should be compact, so that it is always at hand in urgent situations.
What it should contain and how to use it
In the dog first-aid kit the contents should obligatorily include: bandage, probiotic, activated charcoal, electrolyte powder, and also – if needed – tick remover or long-term medications taken by the dog. As responsible caregivers we should know the basics of providing veterinary first aid, so that in a dangerous situation we can act comprehensively. However, the first-aid kit will not replace a visit to a veterinary doctor – it is used solely for emergency aid. Remember never to give a dog human medicines, which can pose a life-threatening danger to him.
